Sharron Murray MS, RN, is a health and wellness author. A migraine sufferer herself, her most recent book is "Migraine: Identify Your Triggers, Break Your Dependence on Medication, Take Back Your Life. Subtitle: An Integrative  Self-Care Plan for Wellness," (Conari Press 2013).

Migraine disease occurs world-wide and affects about 37- 38 million people in the United States alone.  Many people with migraine (migraineurs) have a poor response to acute medications. Lack of effectiveness of over- the-counter (OTC) and prescription analgesic and abortive medications can contribute to medication overuse, which can perpetuate or exacerbate headaches (headache phase of migraine attack).  Sharron wrote this book to help other migraineurs break the cycle of medication dependence and gain control over their migraines, treatments, and lives. It is the first book to address the Western perspective of migraine disease, alongside the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in health and natural healing.

Her previous book, "Critical Care Assessment Handbook," was published by W. B. Saunders Co. in 1999.

Sharron is a former faculty member of California State University Long Beach.  She has over 25 years of bedside, teaching and consulting experience in the critical care nursing arena.  Sharron has taught numerous courses on critical care nursing and physical assessment in Canada and the United States.  She is a past member of the American Critical Care Nursing Association and is a current member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Holistic Nurses Association, and Healing Touch International.  She is a certified Level III participant in Healing Touch.

Sharron resides in Washington State with her husband David.  Prior to that, she lived in  Sun Valley, Idaho, where she served as a Board Member for the Volunteer Core at St Luke’s Wood River Medical Center of Ketchum from 2009-2010, and as a Healing Touch Volunteer from 2009-2011.
